  • Accustandards

AccuStandard, Inc., founded in 1986, is a leading manufacturer of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) and Reference Materials (RMs). The company was pioneered by Michael Bolgar and his wife, Alice Bolgar. In 1998 AccuStandard outgrew its original facility at Science Park in New Haven, Connecticut, USA and moved across town to its current facility of over 37,000 square feet, which houses our offices, warehouse, and several laboratories.

AccuStandard offers a comprehensive selection of Organic, Inorganic and Petroleum Reference Standards for chemical analysis and serves the global market. With distributors in more than 85 countries, AccuStandard is able to provide products to scientists around the world.

The company is renowned for its recognition of environmental concerns and rapid introduction of standards to the market place. Among the more recent introductions are a comprehensive cannabis product line, hydroxy and methoxy PBDE congeners, as well as bromo/chloro hydroxy and methoxy diphenyl ethers, organophosphate flame retardants, biofuels, plastic additives, and rare explosives.

AccuStandard’s synthesis department is able to provide unique and emerging products and product lines. The department has successfully synthesized all 209 PCB and PBDE congeners, created a line of fluorinated PBDE congeners (used as internal standards), and produced many halogenated dioxins, dibenzofurans, PAHs and pesticides. They have also synthesized tetradecabromodiphenoxy benzene (TDBDPB) and many of its metabolites, which are of concern as break-down products.

AccuStandard is accredited as a Reference Material Producer and maintains a robust quality system. For current accreditations and certificates please refer to our website www.accustandard.com

The company prides itself and owes its success to the excellence, loyalty and dedication of its staff. We thank our loyal customers and look forward to serving the environmental community for many years to come.

Laboratory Instruments

  • Pickering Laboratories

Pickering Laboratories, Incorporated makes it easier for laboratories to analyze difficult to detect compounds very specifically and reproducibly. In doing so, we are guided by a simple vision: Guaranteed Chemistry. Because we manufacture the instruments, columns and chemistry to support them we can guarantee the results.

Since our inception in 1984. Pickering Laboratories has been a pioneer in the use of High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and Post-column derivatization technology to develop instruments and chemistry to solve analysis challenges in the fields of environmental and clinical testing.  Our mission is to make it easier for laboratories to analyze difficult to detect compounds very specifically and reproducibly. In doing so, we are guided by a simple vision: Guaranteed Chemistry. And because we manufacture the instruments, columns and chemistry to support them we can guarantee the results.

Pickering Laboratories sells in 150 countries in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Pacific Rim and the Caribbean.

We employ a team of dedicated research chemists, application chemists, engineers and operations specialists led by a team of experienced managers. Together we sell direct and through 87 distributors world wide.

Market trends driving long-term growth in separation sciences:

World food export markets adopting EU and USEPA pesticides and herbicides testing protocols.

Emerging standards for Mycotoxin testing in food products in US and EU.

Growing demand for Amino Acids testing for clinical and pharmaceutical product quality control.

The adaptability and flexibility of the HPLC Post-column derivatization method to new challenges in Biotech and pharmaceutical markets.

As a result of these market trends, Pickering Laboratories has growth oriented research in the analysis and testing markets:

Mycotoxins in alcohol products and feed

Nitrate/nitrite in food and feed testing

Neomycin testing in animal feeds

Building on our strengths in product research and development we expect to continue to find new applications for the Post-column derivatization technique.

Pickering Laboratories is focused on two major analytical testing markets. USEPA required testing for Carbamates and Glyphosate in crops specified by EPA 531.2 and the Clinical and pharmaceutical laboratory analysis of Amino Acids

    • Organomation

Organomation was founded in 1959 by the late Dr. Neal McNiven, who foresaw the need for sample preparation instruments required for chromatography.  He developed the first multiple sample, high-speed nitrogen evaporator, the forerunner of many similar devices.

Originally named the Meyer N-EVAP Analytical Evaporator, it was popular from the very beginning and found acceptance in a variety of analytical laboratories.  It held up to twelve test tubes of various diameters simultaneously with a unique front loading feature.  In the beginning the evaporator was sold directly from a small manufacturing area in Shrewsbury and later Worcester, Massachusetts.

In 1970 a second model was introduced, the twenty four position N-EVAP. With updates in design, features and materials it is still one of the most popular products offered. Frequently, we see examples of both of these early models still in use today.

As the demand increased, it necessitated a larger facility.  In 1980, Organomation constructed its current headquarters and manufacturing plant in Berlin, Massachusetts.  The emphasis at the time was on research and development to expand the product line.  The MULTIVAP batch nitrogen evaporators and S-EVAP boiling solvent evaporators were introduced during this time.

Evaporation was not the only need in sample preparation.  Feedback from laboratory researchers indicated strong demand for extracting an increasing number of samples.  The Rot-X-Tracts for solid and liquid samples were developed to meet this demand.  We now offer over 20 different bench-top instruments for both evaporation and extraction.  Associated glassware and accessories fill out our complete solutions.  The newest instruments incorporate automation to make sample processing faster and easier.

Our sales network of representatives and distributors in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia gives Organomation a worldwide presence.  We pursue additional markets in the Middle East, South America and Africa.

Our quality instruments are highly respected worldwide.  They have a reputation for being well made, reliable and low maintenance laboratory appliances.  Because of their long expected operating life they are very cost effective solutions for today’s busy laboratories.
